I don't know about you all but I am really looking forward to this summer. The booking is already under way for many of us. But here is something to think about as you prepare for the summer "rush". What is our purpose as Christian artists? Is it purely entertainment? Or are we striving to draw people to Christ? Our sole purpose is not entertainment. Yes, we do entertain, however, we should also be ministering to people at the same time. Part of that ministering happens off stage as well. When you make the decision to become a performing artist, you also make the choice to live in a glass house. People are going to start watching you. Things you say, things you do, all come into that lime light with you. So, we need to make sure that we are being a witness to those around us through our actions. Practice what we sing. For those of us that are called to a worship leader position that even goes a step further. If you do not have a personal worship life, how are you going to help others have one? You cannot expect to lead some one where you have never been yourself. This is something that I really need to work on. It is easy for us to get busy in everyday things and let those things get in the way of worshiping God. So, this summer, make sure to carve the time of day out for spending time with God. Make Him a priority in Your life. If you do that, you will not have to worry about the glass house you live in... God will take care of the smudges and finger prints... and your ministry will be truly effective.
